My relationship with food began in Niles, Michigan. My Grandma Mae was known as the best cook around! I learned techniques and recipes from her that are over 100 years old! When my mother and aunt moved us to Seattle, they created a small business selling plates of their food to the neighborhood when the night clubs closed for the evening. People have always enjoyed my family recipes and over the years, I have been blessed to take our rich history with food and bring it to the public!
My relationship with food began in Torremolinos, a small town in Southern Spain. My parents owned a bar and served food to the neighborhood. Coming here, the relationship included their food, as well as my Madrina and my Mama Teresa. Over the years, I learned to cook Soul Food as well as the Latin Food I was raised on. Chef Suela and I blended some of those recipies when she created Suela's Soul Food
